President - Jeffory Magson (2nd year) Jeffory is the Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager at the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and Francis Winspear Centre for Music. Originally from Lethbridge, he studied Drama at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, then went on to study Cultural Management at the University of Waterloo. He has spent his time at the ESO building up the Volunteer program from about a dozen volunteers doing one or two specific duties to over 100 volunteers in four different programs. He started a volunteer program from scratch for the YONA Sistema program, which creates social change through music education in Edmonton's Inner City. Jeffory lives in the northeast with his wife and 2 children and is very excited about the work being done with VMG.

Treasurer - Donna Woodford (8th year) Donna has over twenty years’ experience as both an employee and a volunteer in the non-profit sector within the communities of Edmonton and Sturgeon County. For the past six years she has been the Community Development Coordinator at the Military Family Resource Centre. Prior to this, she worked as the Coordinator of Volunteers for the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, Partners for Youth, the Good Samaritan Society, the Minerva Senior Studies and Operation Friendship. Donna holds a Bachelor of Applied Human Service Administration, and she has completed the Voluntary Sector Management Program in all 3 majors: Non-Profit, Fundraising and Volunteer Management from Grant MacEwan University. She has served on a number of boards including VMG, Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations, Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, and Lauderdale Community League. Donna’s main passion is strengthening the voluntary sector for volunteer managers and volunteers, building capacity in the non-profit sector and making it a better place to serve communities.

Membership Director - Barb Carroll (2nd year) Barb has been with Sage Seniors Association for over six years. She initially began her career at Sage as the Home Services Coordinator before transitioning to her current position as Volunteer and Human Resources Coordinator. Barb works with over 200 volunteers who provide support to the various programs at Sage. Barb moved with her two daughters to Edmonton from Slave Lake in 2005 and worked in the health care sector for over six years. Barb lives in southwest Edmonton and enjoys reading, gardening, brisk walks and has a passion for scrapbooking.
Communications Director/Acting Secretary - Amanda Sokol (3rd year) Amanda enjoyed a successful career in design and owned her own business for many years, but as a life-long volunteer, always felt she could be doing more for the community. This led her to pursue her current career in the non-profit sector. After graduating from the Voluntary Sector Management program, her first job was a one-year research project for MacEwan University examining youth volunteers and service learning. A contract looking at volunteer recognition with EFCL was next, followed by 8 years as a Coordinator of Volunteers, Marketing and Communications, and Special Events at a Parent Link Centre. Amanda spent 2 years as the Program Coordinator for Volunteer Edmonton and two years as the Manager of Community Involvement for Autism Edmonton. Amanda and her family love spending time playing badminton, volleyball, running, cycling or hiking. She lives in Mill Woods with her husband, daughter, son and 2 rotten cats.

Member At Large - Shannon Marshall (1st year) Shannon graduated from MacEwan back when it was still a collage with certificates in Volunteer & Non-Profit Agency Management. She’s worked in Edmonton in the non-profit sector her whole career, beginning her journey at the Clockwork Orange Fringe. She is now at the Canadian Mental Health Association as their Volunteer Resources Coordinator. When she’s not stewarding a volunteer program, she is volunteering! The past few years, she’s been investing her volunteer time in her neighborhood here in Edmonton as a Member at Large for her community league Board. She’s also sat on a committee to revitalize a local green space, where they raised money to add lighting and a walking trail. Shannon also enjoys camping, hiking & spending time with friends and family. She enjoys learning and recently discovered that she likes to paint.
