VMG memberships run from October 1 to September 30 of each year.
Who Can Become a Member?Membership is open to any non-profit organization that utilizes volunteer involvement or an individual who is currently responsible for the management of volunteers, or interested in volunteerism, in either a paid or volunteer capacity.VMG members are:Volunteer Managers or Coordinators with experience levels ranging from complete novice to seasoned veterans, members of organizations with similar values and an interest in promoting volunteerism and the education of those involved in the field of managing volunteers
Membership Benefits GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO NETWORK The Volunteer Management Group is made up of professionals who engage volunteers and manage volunteer programs in the non-profit and voluntary sector. Unlike other roles in the non-profit sector, volunteer managers often work in isolation. VMG meetings provide you with an opportunity to meet others who share similar responsibilities. Consider the potential to collaborate and to learn together and from each other.
INFORMATIVE MEMBER'S MEETINGS VMG Member's meetings take place 7 months of the year, including a social event in June and an AGM in December. We invite guest speakers, who are doing something exciting in the sector and/or who have lots of experience to present on topics such as: volunteer recognition, risk management, events, certification for volunteer managers, recruitment, public speaking, and more.
STAY ON TOP OF TRENDS It's easy to get snowed in by all the work on your desk - but VMG provides you the designated time to think beyond your own organization and to listen to what's going on in the non-profit sector. How are youth engaging as volunteers? How do volunteers want you to thank them? How does the economy affect volunteerism? VMG is a great place to talk about trends in volunteering!
